So you're not a voyager either if you're reading this - don't worry. You realise that there aren't many Voyagers who can be cheaply convinced to sail over half of Deep Blue for you - so you're on your own. Well, short of spending many levelling hours on your ship you had better find an easy way to kill the shadow mermaids, get your last signature and earn your ref gem - yes, you get a ref after this part of the story quest.

I found a very easy way to hunt and kill shadow mermaids with a low level ship on my own in 15 mins.

First - Sail to Spring Island and refuel - repair any damage if you wee too slow to dodge the stuff on the way!
Then - Heaf Northeast around the island - there's nothing that can harm you - you will find 3 shadow mermaids after the short outcrop of land at around 3049 - 2196. These you can pick off with ease and just pop back to Spring for repair when you need it - trust me, after the first few deaths sailing around deep blue you won't find a better way than this!

Go back to Clan Chief Albuda at 898 - 3640 and he will give you not much xp and a REFINING GEM VOUCHER!

Return to Thundora banker Macurdo to obtain Will of Andrew and like me, you too will be bricking it at the thought of being ever closer to fighting your way across summer island - *GULP*
